Job Description

Central Connecticut State University’s Department of Student Wellness Services/Counseling invites applications for a full-time Wellness Programs Administrator. The successful candidate will assist the Coordinator of Wellness Education in implementing and administering a variety of wellness program initiatives, and will contribute actively and effectively to student growth, service, and scholarship. Candidates are expected to be committed to multiculturalism and working with a diverse student body.

Duties include:

  • Implement and manage the Natural Helper Program, including recruitment and supervision of student Natural Helpers, develop training programs and supplemental training throughout the academic year;
  • Coordinates the social marketing campaign to reduce underage and binge drinking, targeting freshman. Share recruitment and development of peer educators with the Coordinator of Wellness Education;
  • Coordinate with departments and campus faculty, staff and students the delivery of awareness events covering issues of substance abuse, eating disorders, depression and stress/anxiety concerns or similar topics;
  • Collect and analyze appropriate data for required grant reports and attends meeting mandated by grantor; and,
  • Performs administrative support functions and coordinates outreach events.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in counseling in higher education or similar field;
  • One year (FTE) professional work experience in program development with college populations; and,
  • Commitment to serving culturally, ethnically and linguistically diverse communities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree;
  • Demonstrated proficiency in oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills;
  • Experience with drug and alcohol education;
  • Ability to work in a team environment; and,
  • Experience collecting data and writing reports.
